Why Teaching Nursing Students
Spending the last fifteen years of my professional career as a Nursing Instructor was probably my most meaningful era in the healthcare field for me. Having paid my dues on a busy Medical-Surgical floor, Postpartum float, Geriatric nursing supervisor, home health agency, Neuro/Neuro ICU charge nurse, Neurosurgeon's clinic, Day Surgery unit, I wasn't even looking to spread my wings to academia. But, as the story goes, sometimes opportunities just come to you. I like to think of this as a pre-destined assignment.)

Bad Week
I basically lived with my mother's sister (Aunt Sis,) and her husband, (Uncle Bill) from the sixth grade through the tenth. They were crucial years for me. I was changing and developing into a confused and resentful teenager. I was angry with both my father and my mother. I couldn't understand the personal hells they were going through. I just felt the emotional impact of it all. I rightfully felt that I had been gypped. All their nonsense had been very much avoidable...alcohol abuse, adultery, and immaturity.

Her Name was Princess Lora
I once knew an adorable little red-headed girl. She lived in a fairy-tale world. She was the baby of the bunch. Everybody loved her gentle and quiet spirit. She also made everyone laugh with the silly monkeyfaces she would make. She was the happiest child in the universe. Her giggles sounded like melodious angel music.
