So you are in the kitchen and not totally sure what to make for dinner. So many choices but so little time for preparation! What do you do? Well let me tell you instead of finding some crafty recipe just to get the little ones to eat vegetables, try these three easy sandwich recipes that can be made quick and easy! I know what you must be thinking, 'Sandwiches, how is that a family dinner?' But these aren't your run-of-the-mill sandwiches, no peanut butter and jelly in this list. Every sandwich on this list is a work of art that you can take and put a creative twist on.

The Spicy Roast Beef Sandwich!

This sandwich is spicy and a little messy but it's a killer sandwich for those who like a little heat! So what do you need to make this sloppy work of art that will have you breathing like a dragon?

You will need the following!

  • Sesame seed sub rolls
  • An onion, Vidalia or purple works best
  • Roast beef a prepackaged brand will work and save you money
  • Green and or red bell peppers
  • Bread & butter pickle chips
  • A good hot sauce and red pepper flakes
  • Butter and garlic optional but encouraged

The Preparation!

Start by chopping an onion into rings, then cut halfway down the middle creating strings. Then slice up your peppers however you like, I recommend strings like the onion. Get a skillet hot with a little olive oil, add your onions and peppers, sauté them, add salt and pepper a little hot sauce and red pepper flakes. Let that brown a little then add your roast beef season the beef, add more hot sauce and red pepper flakes. Toast the bread in the oven. When that's done, all that's left is to build the sandwich. Pickles on the bottom, then the onions and peppers and roast beef on top, a dash of steak sauce then bread on top. Plate it with a good salad and enjoy!

The Turkey & Bacon!

If you want a sandwich that you can feel good about eating then this one is for you. Vegetables, whole wheat bread, and turkey. My take on a classic sandwich that you will love and feel good about! Pair it with some chips or maybe a nice salad or soup. This recipe is great for school lunches for the kids; quick, easy, and healthy.

What You Will Need!

  • Turkey pre-sliced
  • Lettuce romaine works well
  • Bacon
  • Whole wheat greek pita bread
  • Pickles bread and butter or dill
  • Stone ground mustard

The Preparation!

This ones pretty easy! Fry up your bacon and put it on first then the turkey. Now put on your lettuce and pickle. Finally spread a thin layer of stone ground mustard on the final piece of pita bread, then place it on top. Serve it with a salad, chips, or soup.

The Supreme Sandwich!

This one is my personal favorite! It's a little messy, a little spicy, and a lot of deliciousness packed into one sandwich. This one as the name suggests is a bit different than the other two, it's also a bit more time-extensive and a little more expensive. But the taste and flavor are completely unbeatable! It has pepperoni, roast beef, bacon, onion, and green peppers, maybe a few mushrooms, pickles, a little hot sauce, and a little brown mustard. All of that on a garlic toasted roll, splash of parmesan cheese, and heat it in the oven.

What You Will Need!

  • Rolls
  • Pickles, onions, peppers, and mushrooms
  • Roast beef, pepperoni, and bacon
  • Garlic, hot sauce, brown mustard, and parmesan cheese

Preparation

Toast your rolls with a little butter and garlic. Start frying your bacon, once that's cooked add in your onions, peppers, and mushrooms. Stir that for a minute until they start to brown, then add the roast beef and pepperoni. Once everything is nice and hot and your rolls are out of the oven, build the sandwich. Pepperoni on the bottom, next bacon, then the roast beef. And a healthy portion of the onion and peppers. Finally a light dusting of parmesan cheese and some pickles. Sprinkle a little hot sauce and a little brown mustard and the top of the toasted roll and it's finished.

I know what you are thinking!

Okay so what makes these sandwiches different? What sets them apart from your average and less impressive peanut butter and jelly? Well let me tell you these recipes might not seem like much but I can attest to each one, they are a perfect blend of flavors and if made correctly, is something completely amazing to the senses. So I implore you to give these recipes a try and up your sandwich game!
