Starbucks' Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew

I called in at my local Starbucks. I am pleased to know that the Pumpkin Spice Latte is back for the autumn season. And with all the new drinks coming out, it looks as if Starbucks has been experimenting with and trying to reimagine tea and coffee again. Tea and coffee are already magical drinks as themselves. Both drinks in their pure forms offer a wide range of health benefits and with all the fancy stuff thrown in, those health benefits may be lost, but their magic can sometimes be retained. When Starbucks do it right, they really do it right, but when they do it wrong, they fall flat on their face (at least in my opinion).

Since I wrote a review for the Cappuccino Freddo, I decided to try the Cold Brew Vanilla Sweet Cream and give my thoughts out for Vocal.Media. I really liked the Cappuccino Freddo, but I thought the Cold Brew Vanilla Sweet Cream was not quite for me. But that doesn't mean to say that you or anybody else won't dislike it. I was kind of disappointed because I saw the name and thought, Oh my, this is going to be so amazing.

Like the Cappuccino Freddo, the Cold Brew Vanilla Sweet Cream was served with lots and lots of ice. I like ice, so I thought that was good. And seeing the cream swirl and float around to the bottom is visually pleasing and really pretty. I really liked the sound of the name and I couldn't wait to try it. When I took my first sip and thought, "Fuck me! That is strong."

Once the ice kicked in, the strong flavours started to die down. I couldn't really taste the vanilla in it that much, but I could certainly taste the coffee. I prefer my coffee without milk and I drink black coffee a lot, but I thought this drink was a lot stronger than my usual black coffees that I have at home.

The ingredients seem to go well together and it seems to be a very simple recipe. One you could easily make at home. Perhaps it was the way it was made that made me decide that I didn't like it that much, but I did find it to be drinkable. In the end, I was left with a lot of ice.

It's actually not a lot of calories so it's suitable for those who are health conscious. Every other review of this drink seems to be praising it for bringing all the flavours out together and how wonderful it is to see it get made. I got excited watching the drink get made, but I didn't feel the same magic when drinking the drink, unfortunately.

To me it just tastes like an average ice coffee. I couldn't taste any of the vanilla syrup at all. I didn't really think it was that sweet either. The strongest flavour is the coffee and the ice. The vanilla and cream flavour is drowned out. But this is one of the cheaper drinks on the Starbuck's menu, so you might save some money getting this drink.

The drink made me feel awake and alert for the rest of the day because of the strong amount of coffee in it. I felt really energized and motivated to work. It really had a nice smooth texture as well. I think I ended up finishing off all the product reviews on Ciao and the articles for Vocal.Media that I wanted to write, so I gotta give this drink some credit.
