Quadruple Chocolate Brownie Baked Oats

Breakfast or Dessert?

This baked oat recipe can be either! I personally am a HUGE chocoholic so if chocolate is on the go for breakfast then count me in! And the fact that it's QUADRUPLE!!!! YES PLEASE!

All of the food I make is nutritionally balanced and therefore this chocolate-packed recipe is no exception. You might be wondering, how in the hell is this thing healthy?! Well my friends sit back, relax and get ready for the best chocolate-based breakfast you'll ever have.

Lets start by seeing what the four chocolate elements of this recipe are:

  • Chocolate brownie protein powder (My protein)
  • Raw cacao powder (Grapetree)
  • Raw cacao nibs (Graptree)
  • Dark chocolate chips (Dr. Oertker)

These four chocolate-based ingredients provide all the chocolate you need to cure your chocoholic cravings, but why not add MORE?! On the top of the whole lot I also added some vegan dark chocolate sauce, but I'll explain that part later.

To me chocolate has always been my ultimate favourite food. Chocolate bars, chocolate cake, hot chocolate, chocolate EVERYTHING. All though I’m all about eating healthy, there’s just something about chocolate that really gets me going. So If I can eat chocolate without the guilt after it then that is a dream come true.

Lets get into the recipe...

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups oats
  • 2 Tbsp cacao powder
  • 2 Scoops chocolate brownie protein powder
  • 1 Scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 Tbsp cacao nibs
  • 2 Tbsp dark chocolate chips
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Cup almond milk
  • Method:
  • Preheat the oven to 180˚C or 350˚F

In a mixing bowl, add all of the dry ingredients (Oats, cacao powder, chocolate brownie protein powder, vanilla protein powder, dark chocolate chips and cacao nibs) and combine them all together.

In a bowl, mix together the milk and egg and add it into the dry mixture. Mix these in until the batter is a thick consistency and all of the dark chocolate chips and raw cacao nibs are evenly dispersed.

You want the mix to be thick but still runny as the oats will soak up some of the liquid when it is baking, so add some more almond milk or even a touch of oil if needed.

Line a baking dish with a sheet of grease proof paper and empty the mixture into it. Spread it out so it is in an even layer and bakes evenly.

Bake the chocolate oat mixture for 20-25 minutes in the preheated oven.

When done and slightly cooled, remove from the dish and cut out a square portion.

Place it into a serving bowl and add a scoop of fat free Greek yogurt, some fresh banana coins and a cheeky bit of that vegan dark chocolate sauce (I used the Sweet Freedom brand).

Then get stuck in!

Chocolate has never tasted so good and guilt free! This recipe is good for around two to three days but it can get dried out so make sure it's covered and that you add some yogurt when you enjoy it.
