Oranges bring light to our days, and wellness to our health.

Known as the most common fruit tree of the world, oranges are grown in the most warm regions. Oranges, or Citrus Sinensis, belong to the Rutaceae family, and are found in tropical climates.

There's many types of oranges that are available to consume like navel oranges, mandarin oranges, cara cara oranges, and blood oranges to name a few. Oranges are a popular fruit, because of their natural sweetness. Simple sugars are responsible for the sweet taste in oranges.

Oranges have more than 170 different phytochemicals, 60 flavonoids, and phenolic compounds. These compounds have shown to have anti-flammatory properties and strong antioxidant effects.

The bright colored fruit with soft, but firm texture has many vitamins and minerals like thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, folate, manganese, phosphorus, copper, selenium, and pantothetic acid.

Nature has a way of making sure oranges are beneficial to protect your vision, enhancing sexual performance, regulating blood pressure and digestion of food.

Oranges are decent in Vitamin A, which aids in the protecting of the eyes from cataracts or blindness. This can be useful in improving vision and maintaining eye health.

Adding oranges to your diet can offer protection to the membranes lining your eyes.

Orange is rich in Vitamin A. The compounds and vitamin A in oranges convert to an ultraviolet reflection effect, and help your skin for further years. Vitamin A contains properties that aid free blood flow to the scalp and maintain hair volume. Hair loss can be prevented consuming oranges.

According to Faith in Nature, oranges have a high content of critic acid, which aids in exfoliation, and treats acne. This bright delight also prevents sagging of the skin, and promotes firmness. The natural oils in oranges can help moisturize and soften skin.

According to the American Journal of Epidemiology, eating oranges within the first two years may help reduce development of childhood leukemia.

Oranges are a great source of vitamin C. The vitamin C in oranges help fight the formation of free radicals, which cause cancer. However, the amount needed for therapeutic purposes for cancer is more than we can consume.

Phenolic compounds found in oranges may lower ischemic stroke risk for women.

The main fibers in oranges are pectin, cellulose, lignin, and hemicellulose. Oranges are high in fiber, which help lower the risk of colorectal cancer.

Choline, zeaxanthin and carotenoids are nutrients found in oranges that help with health complications. Choline is a nutrient found in oranges that help with sleep, muscle movement, learning, and memory. It also maintains the structure of cell membranes and nerve impulses, aids in fat absorption, and reduces chronic inflammation.

Zeaxanthin and carotenoids have antioxidants that can reverse prostate cancer.

Oranges have a flexible 'food personality.'

You can cook, bake, eat, and drink many variations of oranges. Whether you are on the go, or have a Sunday afternoon to bake, oranges can be infused in food dishes for any time of the day!

I love baking with oranges. Their naturally sweet juice brightens my homemade pop tarts, muffins, and cakes! Whether I use vanilla or mint extract, I discovered on my food journey, oranges can bend with the taste of your main dish.

I like to use Stella Bistro Foods Universalt Sultry Spice when grilling my oranges. Simply cut oranges (of your choice). Grill until grill marks appear, about four to five minutes. Sprinkle a dash of Stella Bistro Foods Universalt Sultry Spice.

When baking, I like to use Stella Bistro Foods Autumn Flair Sultry Spice. The combination of allspice and nutmeg with the sweet citrus smell make a perfect balanced aroma in my kitchen. Cinnamon pairs with mandarin oranges, and navel oranges very well in cookies and pies.

Traditionally, many consume oranges in juice form. You can also visit your local herbal supplement store for orange's nutrients, like Vitamin C, in supplement form.

Oranges have many roles.

Oranges are great for many other household purposes.

Oranges have rich nutrients that strengthen hair. Oranges act as a natural conditioner. Mix orange juice with honey and water. Apply the orange mixture to shampooed hair. Leave on hair for 10-15 minutes.

Alternatively, oranges can get rid of dandruff. Make a pasta of orange peel and lemon. Apply on the scalp for 25 minutes prior to shampooing.
