As someone who has an around the clock schedule, I don't have a lot of time shaved out to always have lunch. Hell, sometimes breakfast and lunch is out of the question.

What's more interesting is that my other half is on the road, facing the same dilemma.

"What is there as an alternative to normal 'meat and potatoes' to eat when you are always on the go?" he asked aloud.

I believe that is great question. Not just for him and myself, but for you too.

What are tasty and affordable options to choose from when you are constantly packing everyone else's lunches, and forget your own?

Are you a busy mom that needs a quick pick me up?

Are you a logistics driver (also known as a truck driver), that has no time in between pre-planned trips, eight hour drive times and limited time and money?

Are you a school teacher with a plethora of finals to grade and post by a deadline or due date?

I can't imagine the little window of time career and family driven 'on-the-goers' have to eat and stay healthy.

Luckily for you, I have carved out five top on-the-go snacks that will refuel you and energize you with B vitamins. More importantly, these healthy and cost effective options are great for the family!

I have always been a lover of Jack Link's beef jerky! I love their Original, just as much as their nuggets in Sweet Teriyaki. Regardless of the flavor you choose, you can find Jack Link's beef jerky to be low in calorie and packed with seven grams of protein per on-the-go packet (recommended product above), 119 milligrams in potassium and packed with magnesium, iron and B vitamins.

Almonds have many properties that make them beneficial. I make a "speedy" trail mix using lightly salted or roasted almonds, dried fruit and seeds of my choice, such as sunflower seeds.

Not only are they a natural remedy for headaches, but they are packed high in potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium and B vitamins. Top your yogurt (which is also packed with protein) with almonds for an extra boost of natural energy.

Needless to say, almonds will never steer you wrong should you need a quick pick me up and a healthy alternative from the snack drawer you are eyeing at your cubicle.

Call it what you want, but peanut butter has always been a traditional go-to! Spice it up with elements of fruit, such as apples, or pretzels to enjoy. Peanut butter is packed with almost eight grams of protein and iron.

Add peanut butter to your morning shake for a boost in your energy level, or simply have it as a snack in your busy midday schedule to get your through the afternoon drive of rush hour traffic.

Make your own peanut butter cups with cupcake liners, melted chocolate and creamy peanut butter of your choice!

The newest crave has become my number one SOURCE of staying hydrated and energized. Water has many benefits of keeping clean and healthy skin, as well as aiding detoxification. Water has been taken up a notch by Trimino!

Their protein infused waters keep me full when I am unable to grab a quick snack like peanut butter or almonds. In addition, their protein waters come packed with seven grams of protein and a variety of tasty flavors. Love one flavor, or try them all! Your pores, energy level and taste buds will thank you!

Remember the mornings before school you were hoping to smell pancakes and bacon, to find out it was oatmeal? If you were anything like myself growing up, I was never a fan of oatmeal. Once I became older, I began to appreciate what the traditional oat cereal had to offer.

Oatmeal is a great alternative to the normal cereals that line the top of our refrigerators, but they also come packed with about four grams of protein to each packet. Quaker Oaks has a variety of flavors such as Apples and Cinnamon and Peaches and Cream.

Find your favorite and dig in! You can enjoy make Quaker Oats cereal options on the go with their Overnight Oats or with their easy traveling single serving cups. Simply add water and enjoy!

These options can be max out with flavor—whether it is jerky, almonds or water, you now have options other than the donuts at the convenience store to choose from.

Happy snacking!
