Different Styles of Grilled Cheeses

A classic, and many of your favorites is the grilled cheese sandwich. The grilled cheese is one of the easiest and most convenient foods you can make. We will be discussing how to make different styles of grilled cheese.

Sloppy Joe Grilled Cheese (See Below)

Classic

The easiest way you can cook a grilled cheese is to make it classic style.

Calories:

  • 380 per sandwich

Ingredients:

  • Butter
  • Two cheddar or Swiss slices
  • Two white bread slices or whole wheat
  • Seasoning (optional)
  • Equipment
  • Skillet
  • Fork/spatula
  • Knife (optional)

Directions:

  1. Put two teaspoons of butter on skillet over medium heat.
  2. Prepare sandwich on plate. Season if desired.
  3. When butter is sizzling put sandwich on skillet with fork or spatula.
  4. Wait for about two minutes or until golden-brown to flip over.
  5. Wait again for around two minutes or until golden-brown and melted cheese to finish
  6. Turn stove off, take sandwich out with fork or spatula.
  7. Cut in half if desired.
  8. Enjoy.

Grilled Cheese Fingers

Grilled cheese fingers are unique in the sandwich world, only because they could count as a group snack. If you want more slices for a group serving size double the ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • Butter
  • Two cheddar or Swiss slices
  • Two white bread slices or whole wheat
  • Seasoning (optional)

Directions:

  1. Two Italian breads
  2. Marinara sauce
  3. One slice provolone
  4. Two slice pepperoni
  5. One slice mozzarella
  6. Butter or olive oil

Equipment:

  • Skillet, fork or spatula

Directions:

  1. Prepare the skillet by buttering or oiling it over medium heat.
  2. Prepare sandwich by putting the pepperonis, between two cheeses, between two Italian breads.
  3. When the skillet is sizzling, put sandwich on.
  4. After two minutes, or until golden-brown, flip to other side.
  5. After other side done, turn off stove and serve.
  6. Enjoy.

Sloppy Joe

This sloppy Joe grilled cheese will be a combination of savory meat and cheese. Will yield four servings.

Calories:

  • 865-920 per each
  • 3,450-3,670 per whole

Ingredients:

  • One pound (.45 kg.) hround beef
  • Two minced garlic (optional)
  • Half cup ketchup (optional)
  • Medium chopped onion (optional)
  • Two tbsp. mustard (optional)
  • One tbsp. chili powder
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Four tbsp. butter
  • Eight slices sandwich bread
  • Two cups shredded cheddar

Directions:

  1. Put butter or oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onions and stir until soft, should be around five minutes.
  3. Add ground beef and stir, breaking up the meat, until no longer pink, should take around six to eight minutes, drain fat.
  4. Add ketchup, garlic, brown sugar, mustard, chili powder, salt, and pepper to beef mixture in skillet. Mix and simmer until thick, should take around five minutes.
  5. Move mixture to a plate or bowl and clean, or use new skillet.
  6. Assemble sandwich. Butter one side of each bread slice. Place butter side down and spoon mixture in, add cup of cheddar cheese in and another bread, butter side up.
  7. Cook over medium heat until bread is golden-brown and cheese is melt, should be three minutes per side. Repeat with remaining ingredients to make three more sandwiches.
