You might think... that's $4 per bag, how is that inexpensive? Well, being someone who buys all natural snacks all the time I can tell you that the variety that they give you is NOT what you will find in your local store, and it comes to you with no additional costs (like shipping - it's always free). If you need a bigger box you can get them, and if you want to add on an extra bag or two, you can do that also.

I am a HUGE fan of wraps and have been for about ten years. And the very best pairing I have found with a wrap is hummus (hommus). This is a wrap I made with Joseph's lavash bread and garlic lovers hummus. As you can see there is a huge part of wrap left over, that is because these are really large wraps. You can see the size of the wrap when you compare it to the knife. They are 60 calories per half and so I cut off the second half and use it in a separate wrap later. I then roll the rest of it sideways. This wrap has romaine lettuce and Boarshead low sodium ham & swiss.

I absolutely love eggs, but whenever I am a vegetarian, people always question me eating eggs because there seems to be some question about eggs containing underdeveloped chickens... seriously? Let me help you out if you also ask yourself that question. Eggs contain NO chicken. A hen lays one egg a day regardless of whether or not there is a rooster in the coop. So it is an unfertilized egg and contains no chicken. Of course being an ethical vegetarian I do care about where my eggs come from. Whenever possible I buy locally, otherwise I buy from farms I know allow for free range living and good food for their hens. It takes research, but it is worth it not only to get a great egg, but to make sure you aren't getting eggs from a farm keeping their hens in horrible conditions and feeding them garbage.

Obesity seems to continue to be a major issue in society these days, and I'm seeing a lot more overweight children than when I was growing up. Children eat what is given to them, and if the parents are overindulging, then it only seems likely that the children will be overindulging as well.

If you are a survival show junkie like me then you know that your body can go weeks without food, but it can't even go days without water. Our body is mostly made of water, so it makes sense that we can't go without it. We lose two to three liters of water on a daily basis just through regular functioning, that doesn't count if you are sweating or being physically active. It is important to put back what you lose because water is used for a lot within our body, not just quenching our thirst. Water provides lubrication for our joints, to keep our brain and spine hydrated and functioning, as well as regulating temperature.

I've written several articles where the items I buy have come from TJMaxx, so I wanted to expand on that as I find that the various locations I have done to all have that one item of foods that are unique and really health oriented. They also sell things much cheaper than you may find at a health food grocery. That is the first place that I found gimMe Organic Teryaki Roasted Seaweed Snacks, which are so amazing.

These days it is not always the healthiest choice to eat regular pasta, and wheat pasta can not only taste pretty bland, or if you don't buy a really good brand it can taste pretty awful. Then there is texture, which makes all the difference in whether or not you find a food appetizing. My best friend Liz had her mouth wired shut once, and I tried the same dinner I was eating in her pureed variety she had to eat, and it tasted NOTHING like the amazing dinner I just had. Texture does matter.

Healthy Choice and Lean Cuisine have been making healthier versions of "tv dinners" for many years. They have steamers, they have desserts, they have just about everything. A while back I was in my local Stop & Shop and realized they have something else—they have ALL NATURAL dinners. Normally I don't shop in the frozen food area except maybe to buy produce in the off season. I was walking by and I saw a 5/$10 sign and then of course on select varieties a 6/$10 with a "must by six" label. Intrigued, I went to the case and I was completely shocked to see these all natural frozen dinner choices. There are others available, these just happen to be the four that I decided to try.

There are no gimmicks needed for healthy, lasting weight loss. And there is science behind why it works, and even more behind why people are so heavy today compared to 100 years ago. Think about this... 100 years ago your grandparents were eating full sugar, full fat everything, and their meals consisted of butters, gravy, meats, and breads. There was nothing sugar free or fat free and yet people weren't obese. Why?
