Getting bored of your everyday coffee in the morning and don’t want to spend $5 a day for coffee at a cafe? Here are five ways that you can change it up and continue to enjoy your favorite morning drink.

People tell me that I am way too crazy when it comes to coffee. I love the taste and everything about it. Personally, I will drink any kind of coffee that is put in front of me, but I know that that isn’t the case for everyone. So feel free to try new things, find your taste and run with it.

1. Try different creams.

There are many different types of creams out there, and new ones are constantly coming out. Many are made for allergy or diet alterations but they can also be just what you need to change up your coffees flavor. There are things such as:

  1. oat milk
  2. rice milk
  3. peppermint cream
  4. hazelnut cream
  5. almond milk
  6. cashew milk
  7. walnut milk

And many more!

2. Experiment with different spices.

You can try putting new spices in your coffee such as cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, cloves, and even vanilla extract! Just this little change can add a completely new flavor to your coffee. The addition could either be best thing that has ever happened to your coffee, or the worst. So go ahead and give all kinds of different spices a chance. Some of these might sound weird, but I have tried a few and I have got to say, I personally greatly enjoy trying new flavors in my coffee, so I loved them.

3. Invest in new gadgets.

If you’re really willing to mix it up you should consider getting new coffee gadgets such as a Keurig, a french press, Nespresso, etc. They can help you get different richnesses and flavors from the coffee all depending on what type of coffee you make. You could also invest in a milk frother to create your very own lattes. Keurig’s basically just make single cups of coffee, pretty basic. A french press is a cheap gadget to make a richer flavor, but if you are always in a rush in the morning this one wouldn’t be too good for you. With the french press you have to let it steep for at least 4-5 minutes. A Nespresso is something that is best for people who enjoy stronger coffees/specialty coffees.

4. Try new flavors.

There are endless flavors that you can pick and choose from to put into your coffee. Things such as chocolate, cinnamon, caramel syrups or almond, vanilla, or peppermint extract. You can play with how strongly you flavor your coffee, you could start out lightly flavoring and then play around with the strength as you go.

5. Try different types.

You could experiment with different kinds of coffee, like iced, cold brew, or hot. You could attempt at making your own lattes and become your own personal barista. If you want to try making iced coffee at home, you can make your own coffee ice cubes. Make two regular hot cups of coffee the night before and sweeten and cream with your regular cup of coffee. Then fill the ice cube tray with one of those cups of coffee and put it in the freezer. Put the other cup of coffee in the refrigerator. Then the next morning fill your cup with the refrigerated coffee add the ice cubes. If you would like you could then add sweeteners/ creams etc. Enjoy!
