10 Foods I Want to Try

Before I Die!!

For as long as I can remember, I have never been a picky eater. If I was at any point in my life, it was a very long time ago, and I most definitely grew out of it. There are very few foods I do not like. Those would be celery... and, well, that is about it.

I grew up watching and helping both my mother and my paternal grandmother cook. I was fascinated at how they made so many foods taste so good and never even opened a recipe book. I also would watch the Food Network channel with my mother ALL THE TIME! I loved watching Rachel Ray reruns all day long. She wasn't the only one I watched, but any show that came on, whoever it was, they were always making things I have never even heard of! I have had friends that have traveled and one who particularly left and never came back. Hearing about all the amazing food she has eaten made me soooo jealous, so here are some of the very few foods I would love to try before I die!!

1. Truffle

The older I got, the more I used social media and, of course, YouTube. I soon found Buzzfeed, and their many channels, including Worth It. In Worth It, they try many different things at three drastically different price points. I noticed in most of the expensive dishes, they used truffle. Andrew described what it tastes like at one point, but I don't think it would do them justice.

2. Caviar

If you have ever seen the Nickelodeon show, Victorious, then you probably know where I'm going with this. There was an episode where the fake ping pong team went to a very nice restaurant, and Robbie ordered like $600 worth of it. The entire time he was eating it, he was praising the food. So that's basically why I want to try it so bad!

3. New York Pizza

I love pizza. It's just great, but I wholeheartedly know that pizza in New York is so much better than East Texas. The best pizza I have had was at a place called "New York Style Pizza" in Tyler. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Do you think a place up north would send it down here? I'll pay for shipping and handling.

4. Bagels

Now I'm not talking about the bagels that are wrapped or bagged you buy at Walmart. I'm talking about fresh, right out of the oven, New York style bagels—the ones you can make a meal out off, and not just eat with cream cheese. I need these in my life.

5. Oysters

I LOVE seafood. It's most definitely one of my favorites. My husband and I have actually thought about moving to Maine because he wants to live up North, and I want to be near the beach and where there is great seafood. I have had lobster, crab, crawfish (that doesn't really count but it does at the moment), flounder, and I believe shark, but never oysters.

6. Real Italian Food

I know this is really a wide range of food but I could NOT pick between pizza, spaghetti, chicken alfredo, or anything else I could find. Although, I did find a recipe called Pasta All'arrabbiata which translates to angry pasta. If you can pronounce that, then teach me. It's supposed to be spicy, so I'm down.

7. Pho

First of all the "o" in "pho" sounds like a long "a," given the pronunciation more like "phah." I'm sure a speech therapist just cringed, but that's okay. You get the gist. Anyways, this dish is a Vietnamese rice noodle soup. It can be made many different ways and it looks absolutely delicious.

8. Spanish Food

I would love to travel to Spain one day and I love Mexican food, so does that mean it's certain I'll like Spanish food? I guess I'll just have to find out!

9. Chinese Food

Of course I've had Chinese food before, but I highly doubt it's the same as in China. It just can't be. I've had friends who were missionaries in China and hearing them talking about the food they have eaten makes my mouth water, and I've never even had it.

10. British Food

I don't think food in the UK would be much different from the US, is it? I do know that they call some things different then we do. I know they eat baked beans with breakfast. I really need to know the difference between food in the US and the UK.

Email me what foods you would like to try someday!!
