Good, healthy meals can be hard to make no matter your lifestyle, especially in today's busy world. Here are some recipes for all kinds of people that will help you make a good meal with as little effort as possible.

Sides:

Garlic Mini Potatoes

You Will Need:

  • Potatoes
  • Garlic
  • Butter
  • A fork
  • Tin foil
  • Herbs (optional)

Instructions:

Clean the potatoes to remove any dirt then poke them with the fork four times on each side to allow for better cooking. Next, mix your butter, garlic, and any herbs you use together and slather that onto the potatoes until well coated. Finally wrap in the tin foil and place in the crock pot for six hours on low and enjoy.

Baked Beans

You Will Need:

  • 2 cans of Bushes Best Original Baked Beans
  • 1/2 brown sugar
  • 1/2 ketchup
  • 1 tsp dried mustard
  • 1 tbsp molasses

Instructions:

Add all ingredients to together in the slow cooker and mix. Cook for two hours on low.

Green Beans

You Will Need:

  • 16 cp green beans (thawed if frozen, roughly 48oz bag)
  • 1/2 cp melted butter
  • 1/2 cp brown sugar
  • 1-1/2 tsp garlic salt
  • 3/4 tsp reduce-sodium soy sauce
  • Spoon
  • Bowl

Instructions:

Place green beans in the slow cooker and mix all other ingredients in a separate bowl then pour on top of beans. Cook for two to three hours on low.

Italian Mushrooms

You Will Need:

  • 1 pound medium fresh mushrooms
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cp butter melted
  • 1 envelope Italian salad dressing mix (wet dressing can be supplemented)

Instructions:

Add mushrooms and onions in slow cooker. In a separate bowl mix the butter and Italian dressing together. Pour over the vegetables and cook for four to five hours on low. **NOTE** if using the wet dressing as a supplement use 1 tsp of melted butter

Carrots

You Will Need:

  • 4 carrots
  • 1/2 cp butter
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • Sea salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp parsley

Instructions:

Peel carrots and cut them into preferred shape then place in slow cooker. Add all ingredients on top of carrots then cook for four hours on low.

Soups and Stews:

Chicken Noodle Soup

You Will Need:

  • 3 cp chicken stock
  • 1 cp beef stock
  • 5 cp noodles
  • 2 tbsp parcley
  • 2 sprig rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 cp chopped chicken
  • 2 tbsp thyme
  • 2 cp diced carrots
  • 2 cp diced celery
  • 2 cp diced onions

Instructions:

Add all ingredients together in slow cooker and stir well. Cook for three hours on low.

**NOTE** some people find their pasta is too soggy when made like this. If this is the case add your pasta in the last half hour of cooking time. If you want to make your own broths take the chicken or beef bones and place them in boiling water. Boil anywhere from five to nine hours or until all meat is pulled from the bones and the water is discolored. This can also be done in the slow cooker on high for the same amount of time.

Chili

You Will Need:

  • 2 can black beans
  • 2 can chick peas
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1/2 pound cooked ground beef (if you have any left over ground beef with taco seasoning on it it is highly suggested to use that)
  • 1/2 pound cooked ground pork
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 thinly diced large onion
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • A strainer
  • Spoon

**NOTE** all meat in this can be supplemented by adding mushroom, eggplant, and tofu

Instructions:

Strain the cans of beans and separate the meat so it's in smaller pieces; you can precook the meat at this point of you wish. Add all the ingredients into the slow cooker and stir. Cook on low for four to five hours and stir once more before serving.

Sausage and Chicken Gumbo

You Will Need:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cans chicken broth
  • 2 pounds smoke sausage (normal or hot)
  • 1/2 cp celery
  • 1/2 cp onion
  • 1/2 cp green bell pepper
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 cp shrimp
  • 1/2 cp flour
  • 1/2 cp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Pot
  • Pan

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Add oil and flour in a pot on medium-high heat on stove. Stir constantly for five minutes then turn down heat to medium, stirring occasionally until mix is brown/dark brown. Season chicken with salt and pepper on both sides and cook in oven for ten minutes. Add chicken broth, chopped vegetables, flour mix (called roux), sausage, and shrimp to slow cooker while cooker is on low heat. Once the chicken is done let it rest for a few minutes, chop into cubes, and add to the slow cooker. Add cayenne pepper with salt and pepper to taste then stir. Cook on high for two to three hours or on low for eight to ten.

Fall Harvest Beef Stew

You Will Need:

  • 1 package stewing beef
  • 2 carrots chopped carrots
  • 1 onion chopped onion
  • 3 medium potatoes cubed potatoes
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 2 pinches red chili flakes
  • 1 tsp rosemary
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 cp beef broth
  • 1/2 tbs flour
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 12 oz can stout beer

Instructions:

Wash all vegetables and cut them as instructed above. Add all ingredients. Cook on high four to five hours or on low seven to eight or until beef is tender.

French Onion Soup

You Will Need:

  • 4 medium sweet onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 1 cp of beer
  • 8 cp low-sodium beef stock
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • French baguette
  • Gruyere cheese, sliced

Instructions:

Add sweet onions, garlic, butter, balsamic vinegar and brown sugar to the bottom of your slow cooker and mix until combined. Cook on high for one hour, stir occasionally. Add flour and mix, leaving that to sit for five minutes. Add beer, beef stock, salt and pepper; leave the mix to cook for six to eight hours. Cut baguette into slices and top with cheese for when soup is done. Place soup into bowls and add the baguette and cheese on top, placing under broiler for two minutes.

Mains:

Beef

You Will Need:

  • 1 beef chuck
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 large potatoes
  • 1 cp beef broth
  • 1 onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • Italian seasoning
  • Mrs. Dash salt free original blend
  • Sea salt and pepper

Instructions:

Clean all vegetables well and chop them, place them in the slow cooker with half the garlic. Place the beef chuck in the slow cooker and place the other half of the garlic, bay leaves, salt and pepper to taste, and two dashes of both Italian seasoning and Mrs. Dash. Add the beef broth and cook on high for four to five hours or until meat is tender and easy to pull apart.

Mac N Cheese

You Will Need:

  • 1 box elbow macaroni
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt and onion salt
  • 2 cp half and half
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 brick cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded marble cheese

Instructions:

Add all ingredients into the slow cooker and mix. Cook for one to two hours on high or three to four hours on low. Mix well before serving.

Meatball Marinara

You Will Need:

  • 1 can of tomato sauce
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 dashes Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes
  • 1 tbsp red wine
  • 1/2 tsp salt and pepper
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • Medium bowl

Instructions:

In the bowl mix the meat, egg, salt, and pepper together. Roll the meat mixture into a ball. In the slow cooker add all the other ingredients including salt and pepper, mix well. Place the meatballs in the sauce and cover in sauce. Cook for three to four hours on low.

Meat Loaf

You Will Need:

  • 3 pounds ground beef
  • 4 cp bread crumbs
  • 2 cp ketchup
  • 1 cp onion, chopped
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp black pepper

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients together in slow cooker and form a loaf shape. Cook on high for three to four hours or on low for six to eight.

Lemon and Herb Chicken

You Will Need:

  • I family sized chicken thighs
  • 1/4 tsp thyme
  • 1/4 tsp rosemary
  • 1/4 tsp parsley
  • 1 pinch paprika
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1 pinch sea salt

Instructions:

Place all ingredients in the slow cooker and rub the chicken so both sides are well seasoned. Cook on low three to four hours.

Desserts:

Mini Salted Caramel Mocha Cheesecakes

You Will Need:

  • 3/4 cp ground chocolate graham crackers or chocolate wafers
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/3 cpp sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 oz bittersweet chocolate, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp instant coffee
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cp brown sugar
  • 1/2 cp heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt or kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 6 4 oz jars
  • Non-stick spray
  • Large bowl
  • Saucepan

Instructions:

Coat the jars with the non-stick spray and mix the chocolate crumbs with the melted butter and add a large tablespoon into the jar. Make sure to pack the mix down evenly on the bottom of the jar. In the large bowl beat the sugar and cream cheese until smooth then add the egg, chocolate, the first vanilla, coffee, and salt. Pour the cheese mix into the jar until three-fourths full and place in slow cooker. Pour hot water around the jars until they are three-fourths submerged then cook on high for 1.5 hours. Refrigerate for two hours after that. Add the remaining ingredients except the second vanilla into the pan and cook on medium-low heat for seven minutes. Make sure to whisk occasionally. Add the vanilla and cook for another minute and refrigerate until cold. When ready to serve pour the sauce over the cheesecake and enjoy.

Apple Crisp

You Will Need:

  • 2 cans apple pie filling
  • 2 cp brown sugar
  • 2 cp oats
  • 2 sticks butter
  • Can opener
  • Spoon

Instructions:

Open the cans and put them in the bottom of the crock pot. Make sure to spread the filling out evenly. Sprinkle the oats and brown sugar evenly on top of the filling. You can mix it in a bowl if you want and then sprinkle it on top. Cut up the butter into smaller pieces with the spoon and put on top of the other ingredients. Cook on high for two hours.

Mixed Berry Compote

You Will Need:

  • 1 bag frozen mixed berries
  • 2 cp sugar
  • Spoon

Instructions:

Add all ingredients into the slow cooker and mix. Cook on high for four hours or until the berries are soft and have formed a sort of sauce. Serve over ice cream or pancakes.

Cinnamon Monkey Bread

You Will Need:

  • 1 pck Pillsbury cinnamon rolls
  • 1/2 cp chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cp raisins (optional)
  • Nonstick spray
  • Knife

Instructions:

Keep the icing on the side for future use. Spray the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Cut the cinnamon rolls into quarters and layer the pieces in the bottom of the slow cooker. Add the walnuts and or raisins in with the rolls. Cook on high for two hours. Serve with icing on top.

Triple Chocolate Peanut Butter Pudding

You Will Need:

  • 1 cp flour
  • 1 cp sugar
  • 4 tbsp coco powder
  • 2 tbsp veggitable oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cp milk/chocolate milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cp peanut butter flavoured chocolates
  • 1/2 chocolate pieces
  • 1/2 cp chopped peanuts
  • 1 1/2 cp boiling water
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • Kettle
  • Spoon
  • Bowl

Instructions:

Spray your slow cooker with the nonstick spray and boil the water. Add flour one-third cp sugar, two tbsp coco powder, baking powder, chocolate milk, oil, and vanilla into the slow cooker and mix until moist. Add peanut butter pieces, chocolate pieces, and peanuts into the mix. In the bowl mix three-fourths sugar, two tbsp coco powder, and slowly stir in the boiling water. Pour this mix on top of the mixture in the slow cooker. Cook for 2 - 2.5 hours on high.

You Will Need:

  • Baking powder
  • Vinegar
  • Steel wire scrub
  • Sponge
  • Cold water/lemon

Instructions:

Mix water or lemon juice with the baking powder to form a paste. Put the paste on the slow cooker, both in the pot and the base. Leave the pot until the paste has dried then spray with vinegar until all of the paste has dissolved. In the pot, wipe out with sponge. In the base use the steel wire scrub in circular motions. Wipe out with sponge or paper towel and repeat as necessary.
